Addressing the unique challenges facing local governments regarding energy planning and climate action.
We conduct engaged research with local governments to address key decision-making challenges surrounding energy use and renewable energy deployment. Much of this research is in response to questions that arise locally in Minnesota, but is continually exploring new partnerships.
Current projects include working with local governments in SE Minnesota on understanding the energy and water demands of data centers and ongoing work on the place-based dimensions of the energy transition.
