Access to Electricity and Energy Programs

Working to provide reliable and safe access to electricity connections and electrification opportunities.

This research area includes activities in the United States on energy efficiency and how to navigate energy programs, and research in sub-Saharan Africa on distributed energy solutions for rural electricity access. We have a particular focus on examining how to make the technical information and requirements of energy programs and services more accessible and beneficial to users, members, or ratepayers.

Current research includes work to support the Twin Cities Energy Efficiency Peer Learning Cohort's pilot energy navigator program in the Twin Cities and ongoing work on community-based models of rural electrification in the Global South.
