Kwezi was born in Kampala, Uganda. He earned his B.S. in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry from Makerere University in 2016, after which he worked with the Leo Africa Institute for 8 years, managing youth development programs in Uganda and the East African region. He was a 2024-25 Hubert H. Humphrey fellow at the Humphrey School.
He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy (MS-STEP) at the University of Minnesota, focusing on energy and climate policy. He is also a graduate assistant in Assistant Professor Elise Harrington’s energy policy lab. His research interests center on how global south countries navigate the energy transition and the role of local electric cooperatives in fostering sustainable energy access. In his spare time, Kwezi enjoys running, reading, and hosting friends.
